The 3rd Annual Spice up Spring Pueblo Chile Recipe Competition took place at a variety of local restaurants across Pueblo last Thursday, May 3rd. Judging was nearly impossible this year as contestants presented their most unique and delicious recipes infused with Certified Pueblo Chile. Entrants prepared a dish for three categories: best appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
Milberger Farms at Peppe’s took home best appetizer for their juicy Bacon-Wrapped Pueblo Chile Asiago Cheese Bites. Bistoro stole best entrée with their spicy Pueblo Chile Steak Bocatta. ThunderZone Pizza and Tap House earned best dessert with their decadent Green Chile Apple Cobbler, and special recognition was awarded to the zesty Pueblo Chile Cilantro Margarita entered by Cinfully Delicious Catering! First-place winners in each category will receive a $250 cash prize, and 2 Bushels of fresh roasted Pueblo Chile, in addition to a certified Pueblo Chile T-Shirt and trophy! Recipients will be recognized at the Greater Pueblo Chamber’s Business During Lunch on May 10th in the Pueblo Community College Fortino Ballroom at 11:30 am.
