The annual Chile & Frijoles Festival, held each year the third weekend after Labor Day, is Pueblo’s harvest celebration. The festival s hosted by the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce.
Every year, thousands pay homage to Pueblo’s best-loved crop: green chilies, particularly Pueblo Chile.

Saturday, September 1st, 2018 at 2:00pm Located at the AFW Amphitheater, Colorado State Fair
Judging Criteria: 100% Quantity of Pueblo Chiles (How many eaten)
Each contestant begins with a bowl of 10 fresh Pueblo Chiles. Contestants must finish eating contents of the first bowl before receiving additional bowls. Contestant must compete for the entire 10 minute round to be eligible for prizes. Did someone say Pueblo Chile?! Saturday, September 1st is the official Pueblo Chile Day at the Colorado State Fair! The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce will be roasting fresh Pueblo Chile and giving away free sample-sized chile wraps in front of the Colorado Building until gone. Events also include a media conference at 12pm with Representative Daneya Esgar and a Pueblo Chile Eating Contest open to the public at 2pm.
